My request is for an integrated out-of-office feature within calendar appointments and events.
I've created a custom version, called Out-of-Office Live, that allows me to check an ooo box and set times directly within the appointment form. I also modified the ooo agent to run as-new-mail-arrives. The agent checks my calendar to see if I have an appt or event with the ooo box checked, and if so, responds appropriately to the sender based on my standard ooo message preferences.
This allows me to set myself ooo for specific timeframes, and eliminates the requirement to remember to enable/disable the current ooo setting. For example, if I have an appt from 9am-11am, but have an hour drive to be onsite, I would set myself to be ooo from 8am-12pm right on the appt form. Any mail that comes in during that time will get an ooo response indicating that I should be back around 12pm.
This is a terrific feature for me, but it does not work in a corporate environment. Would it be possible to create an "official" version of this in a future release?
